Tegrity Playback Issues Reported Spring 2015
Beginning the fourth week of the spring 2015 semester, the eLearning Department began receiving sporadic reports of issues relating to playback of Tegrity Recordings. After several days of trouble shooting with our students to resolve these issues, it was discovered that on January 18, 2015 Tegrity had carried out maintenance work to resolve playback issues in both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. These changes may result in Tegrity playback errors for systems which had previously worked before this update.
After our research into these playback issues, we suggest that our students download and use the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (available for download by clicking here) and Microsoft Silverlight (available for download by clicking here).
After we reported our experiences with these errors to Tegrity concerning playback issues with Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, they have provided the following links to articles that should help resolve issues for these browsers:
- Google Chrome:
Enable Windows Media Player Plugin in configuration using:
- Internet Explorer:
Configure browser settings using:
Then clear browser settings to default.
- Firefox version 34 an higher:
- Install Windows Media Player Mozilla Plugin
and restart browser
Additionally, we recommend that browser cache be deleted which will get rid of any old settings that may contribute to other player issues. We have created an FAQ with instructions in how to delete browser cache and history. To visit, click here!
